Have you ever broken up with your boyfriend to concentrate on work/job hunting/university/college?
Yes
No
Think you know it all, eh? Well even if you reckon you've seen the world, here are a few facts which might surprise, nay shock, you. Don't believe us? Then read on…
The word POSH originates from the days of travelling by ship to India. Wealthy passengers had 'POSH' marked on their luggage, standing for 'Port Out, Starboard Home' - meaning the shadier (and therefore more comfortable) side of the ship in both directions.
Carrots are actually purple. The Dutch introduced the orange pigment to carrots in the 16th century in honour of their national colour.
The lifespan of an eyelash is about 150 days, after which it'll fall out. But don't worry; you'll still have something to put your mascara on. New eyelashes are continually growing to replace them.
A banana is a fruit. But, amazingly, it's also a herb. The stem of a banana 'tree' does not contain true woody tissue, so it's technically a herbaceous plant (or 'herb').
Pot Noodle now only has 5% fat. And it doesn't have any artificial colours or preservatives either, which might well be why it's so tasty. It's perfect to eat when you are on the go or peckish and need something to keep you fueled. Or dig into one before a night on the town - it'll fill you up so you can hit the bars, which sounds pretty much the perfect evening accessory to us, and a bit more useful than the one about eyelashes.
Competition Winners
The winner of the Pot Noodle 5* weekend was Rachel Freeman, 21, a recent graduate from Nottingham, who correctly answered that a single serving of Pot Noodle contains only 5% fat. Rachel, who brought along her extremely grateful friend Fern Berresford, won an all expenses paid weekend worth over £2000. Rachel and Fran stayed in the luxurious Malmaison hotel in the centre of Manchester, and after checking in headed out for a top class lunch at the Harvey Nichols brassiere. Suitably fed and watered they hit some of Manchester's most glamorous stores with a £1000 to spend. Several hours of make-up testing, revolving changing room doors and extremely helpful sales assistants, the girls indulged in some much needed retail recovery before their five star evening.

The evening began (as always darlings!!) with cocktails in the hotels bar to set them on their way, then it was time to move on to The Living Room one of Manchester's most exclusive bar and restaurant (which had hosted the VIP party for the England squad for a recent match). Rachel and Fern enjoyed a great three course meal, topped off with some amazing champagne and wine. Then onto more drinks in the VIP bar before moving on to not one, but two further bars, to experience the highlights of all Manchester had to offer. Which in no doubt left them needing to refuel the morning after the night before. So it was lucky they also received a month's supply of Pot Noodle to keep them going! Rachel said "I've never been able to do so much shopping before, ever. Thank you so much!"
