This is our top tip list on how to get into modelling, what they'll be looking for and how to keep safe and avoid any potential dodgy agents:

Call them on 09068 517 644
(calls charged at 60p per minute)
and they will send you a list of reputable agencies.

You do not need to part with any cash at all, so if anyone asks you for any just say no. If an agency decides to take you on their books they will open an account for you and this will be used for things like your model cards etc. All costs will simply come out of the money you earn from jobs.

Legitimate agencies will be happy just to take snap shots or Polaroids from you, so don't be fooled if people say you need to spend money on professional pics.

Pictures of you in your normal clothes are fine, or pics of you in a bikini from your holiday. Never agree to take your clothes off for any photographer, even if he insists it's necessary. Don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.

If you're worried about an agency either check them out by calling the AMA or in extreme cases inform the police.

Ideally take a family member or friend with you to any agency, especially if you're under 18 years old. (Many top models have their mums with them wherever ever they go round the world so don't be embarrassed.)

Getting noticed:
Try popping along to events such as the More Fashion Awards. FM Models will be there and will be scouting for new girls and boys.

It's best to give agencies a call and make an appointment to go in and see them. Different agencies have different days they can see girls and if you're organised you'll be able to see all the top London agencies in one day. Remember you do NOT need to have any professional pictures already and you do NOT need to part with any money.
