The more! beauty clinic

We've fixed your beauty dilemmas before Friday night kicks in!

My skin looks so dull on a night out. Do you have any brightening tricks? Gemma Peters, Aberdeen.

Hi Gemma. If you're looking for all over brightness, try blending a little illuminator in with your foundation before you apply it. It's also a great way to wake up tired looking skin the morning after!

Can you recommend a no- budge concealer that'll last all night? Jo Corns, Bucks.

Hi Jo. It's not a new one, but Benefit Boiing Concealer is truly professional in its quality. We've tested it lots of time and it always come out as a winner. A little goes a long way and with its slight golden undertones it's ideal if you've just fake tanned in prep for your big night out.

Can you recommend a shine spray that'll really gloss my hair without making it look greasy? I wear my hair up in a messy bun but want it to still look glam and healthy. Catherine Stokes, Surrey.

Hi Catherine. What you need is a wax-based shine spray, rather than oil. We love Joico Style and Finish Creme Wax Texture and Shine, which will hold your 'bed head' bun in place and also give it a shine boost.

I usually have really clear skin but I keep getting a really spotty chin lately! I take my make up off every night, moisturise and cleanse my skin every morning... I've tried not using foundation but all this does is making my spots look uglier without clearing them up! What can I do?!

Hi there kirsty, i myself suffer from the same problem i would recommend when using foundation or products like tinted moisturiser or any other face products that you avoid high levels of SPF in foundation as these can be oily and only tend to make the problem worse. The best option is to opt for mineral powders and other mineral products as these dont block pores and should create a matte surface and complextion without getting to oily or making oily skin any worse. hope this helps!
