Fashion Find: River Island’s Utility Jacket

I always find myself in a bit of a pickle come this time to year, and it’s all down to those notorious little troublemakers - the January Sales. Now it’s the 25th of the month it’s got me thinking: are they unsightly creatures that seem to be impossible to extinguish from existance, or are they still a gold mine of fashion goodness? AH, it’s like one of those constant ‘life complications’ that just seems to stay a mystery! Hmmm. Maybe it’d be best to come back to me with that question come the Spring/Summer bonanza, yes?

BUT, fighting in the ‘the sale’s are still amazing’ corner, I did find a gorgeous little purchase yesterday which will definitely get it’s fair share of wear (ha) come the spring time. Utility jackets have been around for donkeys years and they’re somewhat indestructable- they never seem to shift out of fashion and that’s exactly the sort of gem we all love! This one, which I found in the River Island near One New Change (which is basically opposite St Pauls Catherdral, Londoners!) was £15 in the sale. Which, frankly, is a BIT of a steal. In fact, I felt like I was mugging them off a bit, if I’m perfectly honest. River Island, you’re a G (-enius).

Unfortunately the stock of this little wonder is a bit fat zero online, but if you have a bit of a rummage in your local store you never know what you may find! Come to mention it, have any of you bought any gems this late on in the January Sales? Are they the unsung heroes to our daily lives, or a massive hinderance for S/S shoppers?

PS - Look out for a ‘Today I’m Wearing’ post tomorrow which is going to feature this little jacket, lovelies!
