Blog boudoir: L'Espoir De Ma Vie

Winter waves and ancient prints

Bonsoir! Finally I have time to do another post for you all, as this weeks schedule is pretty full. I really wanted to do a post on Friday (when this OOTD) was shot. However like a numpty, I forgot to get the photographs of my boyfriend (fish memory for you). I'm planning quite a few things to happen to my blog such as filming more videos on Youtube for you guys , when you all get your say on whether you want me to answer questions, do OOTD videos or Hauls. As the feedback from you all has been lovely to hear from as it's truly heart warming to know that the effort and work that I put into my blog is appreciated.

Somehow lately i've just wanted to get all my summer clothes early as i'm getting bored of seeing the same old winter trends. I'm someone who's always liked adding a splash of colour to my wardrobe , as I think it not only brings out the fun side to your personality (e.g. being eccentric, fun, quirky, wacky and creative) but makes a dramatic difference to the shape of your body.

As most of you know, Aztec , polka dot pints and stripes are a must have this Spring/Summer along with florals and bright colours. So the outfits i've worn recently have been influenced by these girly hippie looks, which have caught many famous trend setters eyes such as Fearne Cotton , Jameela Jamil and the Olsen twins.

This outfit is pretty much a bundle of trends that have just hit the catwalk recently, such as the classic ancient prints and natural colours which are based on African clothing and mythology. Most aztec printed clothing gives you (the stylist) a range of colours to play around which is perfect for the colourful Spring and Summer season. I found this lovely African aztec skirt on Yayer which is a great fashion website to find unusual modern and vintage clothing. However at the time the skirt was too small for me as I selected a size small by accident which now isn't an issue as I can fit in the skirt perfectly due to losing weight. As the skirt was the main focus of the outfit like other printed pieces of clothing such as polka dot skirts or striped jeans which are must haves this spring! You must wear something on the top half which isn't going to clash with the bottom half , for example wear either a plain coloured shirt which matches with one of the colours used on the main item of clothing ( which in this case is the aztec skirt).

If you're wanting to try something new and extravagant such as patterned clothing make sure you wear something which suits your body shape and brings out the features you're most proud of such as your curves! I'm someone who's curvy, however at times I do feel very insecure about it. One of the techniques I use in this case for an outfit which is quite eccentric and draws attention to my hips. I balance the colour choices of my outfit by wearing which is something nearly as bright or dark to the skirt. The olive top I found in the mens section in Ark fitted perfectly to create a vibrant winter/spring outfit as dark and mid green colours such as Khaki, Forest green and Bottle were and still are must haves during the Christmas holidays and the rest of the new year.

Olive green is a great colour which has always been used to describe nature and spring in poetry. So putting this top with something equally as bright creates the perfect curvy silhouette. Jacket wise I wore my quilted faux fur coat.. which seems to be something i'm always blogging .. (sorry guys I can't help it. It's freezing where I live so it's one of the only things apart from my leopard print collared coat which keeps me warm during these chilling times). Having a jacket on top also helps slim down your hips and allows you too add more colours to the outfit which matches the patterned item of clothing. If you don't have a quilted or leather jacket, you can wear an alternative such as a blazer or a coat. Shoes wise you can pretty much wear anything such as pixie boots, brogues, vans or heels .. whatever tickles your fancy.
